Training

As a construction worker in today's ever-evolving jobsite maintaining skills at or above the industry standard can be a challenge. That is why Ohio Laborers take training to the next level! The Ohio Laborers’ Training and Apprenticeship Program has a mission to provide its Local members with quality training in building and construction trades and jobsite safety.  LIUNA training and apprenticeship programs use state-of-the-art facilities where members can experience real world, hands-on training in a classroom designed to mock a construction site.  As a union member of Local 245 you will be trained to master industry skills excel on the jobsite, 

The Ohio Laborers’ Training and Apprenticeship at the Drexel J. Thrash Training Center is located on 119 acres of vast rolling and scenic grounds making it ideal to host multiple mocked-training sites. 

At the Drexel J. Thrash Training Center the courses are categoried under four segments

Basic Construction

Advanced Construction Skills

Environmental Remediation Techniques

Safety Practices and Awareness

Contractors know they have a competitive edge employing LIUNA members. Employers can count on a highly skilled labor workforce that is productive and perform quality work, while abiding by the safety and health standards of the construction and building trades industry.  Contractors can rest assured project completion is on time and on budget with little to zero worker injury or fatality.  A good paying, family-supporting job with benefits is the reward for the construction laborer who masters his or her building and construction trade skills!
